Rain forest Parrot trail
Come and join us, to explore our Saint-Lucian beauty by hiking our Rain Forest Parrot trail.
The trail is located into a paradise of unspoiled nature on the Fond Estate in Micoud, on the East Coast of the island.
Our tour guides will take you along the trail while explaining more about Saint-Lucia’s nature and/or answering your questions.
For the nature and hike lovers, it will be an unforgettable and unique experience.
Birdwatchers are likely to be satisfied as the Saint-Lucian Parrot, Warbler, Pewee, and Oriole can be found in the forest.
During the trail you will hear and /or see the Saint-Lucia national bird, the Saint-Lucia Parrot also called the Amazona Versicola. The national plant, bamboo, can be found on several occasions. You will come across several fruit trees, such as sweet lime, guava and carambola.
Halfway your hike, the sound of the waterfall (110 feet / 30 meters) and meditative surroundings will provide an ideal outlet to unwind and get mentally and physically energized. Gazing upwards to the waterfall is truly inspiring and gives the feeling to become one with our nature.
To make sure your adventure is complete, we invite you to unwind and relax at our waterfall, where a swim and/or bathing is allowed.
The hiking trail takes 4 hours. All trails are well maintained and litter-free.
The trail is rated strenuous.
Don’t forget to bring along:
- bathing suit and towel
- bottle of water
- camera and/or binoculars
Good walking shoes are required
To ensure your personal, and others safety, we advise you NOT to bring any valuables along the tour.
Participation and restrictions:
Minimum 4 persons per tour.
Since the hike is strenuous, we advise that only fit persons participate.
Guests under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs will not be allowed
Persons with heart disease, back problems, pregnant woman and children under age of 12 years are not allowed to participate.
All our tour guides have received a First aid and CPR course.
Rates (without transport):
25 US$ per person
Locals: 35 EC$ per person
Transport can be provided at an additional cost.
